Many individuals on social media have criticized Carson and her recommendations for establishing an environment of juvenile consent since the segment aired.

One individual wrote on Twitter, “I apologize, but it is the responsibility of the parent to change a child’s dirty diaper. This is a necessary aspect of proper child care, not a request from the child.”
The segment also prompted Sky News Australia commentator Rowan Dean to refer to the concept of requesting a baby’s consent to change their diaper as “lefty lunacy.”
Carson has since responded to the outrage on her social media platforms by publishing an extensive post in which she defended her stance.
