According to a study, cancer rates are higher in Gen X and millennials than in older generations.

Increase in Incidence and Mortality in Gen X and Millennials

The cancer incidence increase was especially pronounced in cancers of the pancreas, kidneys, renal pelvis, thyroid, and small intestine.

Additionally, they noted that mortality rates increased in five types of cancer: liver, endometrial, gallbladder, testicular, and colorectal cancers.

These findings are troubling because they suggest that the increasing cancer risk in Gen X and Millennials isn’t merely because we’re identifying and diagnosing cancer more routinely nowadays.

Instead, it demonstrates a significant and alarming rise in cancer risk at the population level. New cases are increasing so quickly that they are surpassing therapy advancements.
