Pautler said authorities he “chosen a specific cartridge for the firearm because he wanted the victim’s death to be humane” and “chosen his shot placement to kill the victim as quick as possible,”
According to the probable cause statement. Pautler, according to reports, “made multiple statements advising he no longer wants to live, and he wants to end his life so he can be with the victim.”
Pautler is still being detained without bail at the Jefferson County Jail on accusations of armed criminal action and first-degree murder.
