According to her sister, Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu died at the age of 48 from influenza-induced pneumonia. According to the BBC, his younger sister, TV presenter Dee Hsu,
Claimed she and her family were in Japan for Lunar New Year when she reportedly became unwell. However, she did not provide details about where and when her sister died.
“My dearest and most compassionate sister, Barbie Hsu, passed away from influenza-induced pneumonia and sadly left us,” she said (via Sky News).
“I am thankful that I was able to be her sister throughout this lifetime, caring for and spending time with her. I shall always miss her and be grateful for her.”
Barbie Hsu is who? Known by her admirers as “Da S” or “Big S,” Hsu originally gained notoriety in the mid-1990s at the age of 17 when she joined Dee in the pop group SOS.
