The photograph went viral on Facebook after it was uploaded, leaving onlookers appalled at the terrified and upset toddler dangling in midair.
After a number of people shared the photo of the young boy on the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the local sheriff’s office finally took notice of it.
According to an inquiry, the boy was dangling on a plant hook instead of a nail, as was initially thought, Sgt. James Konicki told CBS6.
