After a frantic two-month search, a 12-year-old girl has been located.

Nevertheless, a $50,000 reward was given in the hopes that 12-year-old Maria would be found safe after six weeks of searching without success.

It has been six weeks since Maria was last seen. In a speech to the local community, the sheriff emphasized the need of their continued support in keeping the case under scrutiny.

He asked for pledges of “reward money, organiz[e] signage or share[e] fliers” with the public. According to FOX5 Atlanta.

Maria’s father Andres Gomez Alonso expressed his hope that his daughter will return, or at least be returned.

I have faith that my daughter will be returned to me by God. I have faith in him that he will bring my daughter home if he permits her to be alive.
