After a minor rule disqualified her from the final competition, an Olympian faced condemnation for her behavior.

An Olympic gymnast’s response to a technicality that prevented her from making the final has drawn criticism.

Simone Biles and Suni Lee, both gymnasts competing for Team USA, qualified for Sunday’s all-around final with outstanding performances.

Lee barely defeated Jordan Chiles in the last uneven bars performance, meaning that Chiles lost out on a final position.

In order to advance to the final, Lee, the 2020 Olympic all-around champion, needed to score at least as high as the 23-year-old’s remarkable score of 14.800. Lee achieved this with a score of 14.866.

In a normal situation, Chiles would have advanced to the final and begun her preparations after finishing third in her subdivision, behind teammates Biles and Lee.
