Following the death of a 14-year-old boy in a fire in Gateshead on Friday night, 14 children have been placed under custody on suspicion of manslaughter. The children are still under police custody.
After a youngster died in a fire, eleven boys and three girls were taken into custody on suspicion of manslaughter.
After 14-year-old Layton Carr was found dead inside a building at Fairfield Industrial Park in the Bill Quay neighborhood of Gateshead.
The group was taken into custody. Before 8 p.m. on Friday, firefighters were dispatched to the location and put out the fire.
After Layton disappeared at around 7 p.m. on Friday, the police issued a request for information early on Saturday morning.
