According to the New York Times, Adam clarified that Khelif is not transsexual and that she is a qualified athlete in spite of the allegations that have been circulating about her. In an effort to stress that
she had not undergone any transition and that this was only a false rumor propagated online about transphobia and other issues pertaining to the perceived femininity of women of color,
childhood pictures of the celebrity were also made public. Following her victory, Khelif is now suing people who incite hatred against her on the internet.
In an interview with Variety, Nabil Boudi, a lawyer from Paris who works for the National Center for the Fight
Against Online Hatred prosecutor’s office, said the organization received Khelif’s complaint against social networking site X over her experiences during the Olympics.
