After battling to fit in her airline seat, a plus-sized customer ignites a contentious argument. But who is truly at fault here?

Some suggested that the guy should be required to pay for an additional seat in order to avoid bothering those around him. “Anyone who is overweight, regardless of the cause,

needs to buy an additional seat.” One person said, “That is a safety requirement, not discrimination.” “I agree that you should purchase a second seat if you are unable to fit into your current one.

” You are purchasing a certain amount of space on the aircraft and shouldn’t encroach on someone else’s space, whether we agree with seat size or not, another person said.

There need to be a passenger weight restriction for a single seat, just as there is for checked luggage. Moreover, a third proposed basing that cap on seat size/class.

“I’m a fat person.” Most likely making fun of this guy’s size. A fourth guy said, “It’s his job to make sure he’s comfortable and that nobody else is getting crushed by him.”

“The airlines should consider increasing the size and comfort of their seats.” Not for men like myself, but rather for the common individual.
