The doll’s owner, Carolynne Seiffert, told the officer that it was made to resemble as much like a real baby as possible when Short discovered her getting her hair cut at Super Cuts at the time of the incident.
Short claimed that when he picked up the doll, it even felt like a genuine infant.
According to Sentinel Source, Seiffert had paid $2,300 the week prior to the event for the doll, named Ainslie, from a doll nursery.
The doll, known as a “reborn” doll, is made by hand out of silicone to have the most lifelike appearance. Reborn dolls are part of Seiffert’s collection.
She claims that in order to let people know that the infants in her car are fake, she intends to slap a sticker on it.
