Blanding now wonders what will happen to the money she paid for the journey. In order to give her a refund, the driver tells her that he would cancel the trip.
In response to her direct question about if his rejection is due to her size, he says, “Yeah, you need to order a bigger car.”
The driver also reveals that his tires are “very tired,” which is an odd justification for not finishing the excursion. Blanding is heard on the video saying, “What I got to do with your tires?”
Later, she posted the video on Instagram, criticizing Lyft for what she sees as discriminatory practices. She said, “@lyft what yall got to say about.
This yall driver discriminated against me,” as a caption to show her dissatisfaction. I just feel that you treat large people like shit, as if we don’t belong here.
Blanding said in an interview with Fox 2 Detroit that she has engaged two lawyers and intends to proceed with a lawsuit,
