More than ten years after having both of her legs amputated, a lady has won a historic case.
A stomach infection and hormone deficient illness caused Georgia teacher Jessica Powell to fall at her home in March 2013.
After being sent to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany for emergency care, she was diagnosed with sepsis and shock and given medication to treat her dangerously low blood pressure.
However, Jessica, who was 28 at the time, reportedly need both of her legs amputated above the knee as a result of medical professionals mishandling her treatment.
Jessica, now 40, was given a medicine overdose by her doctors, according to court documents, Union-Bulletin writes.
