She said her daughter suffered glycerol toxicity, from the glycerol used in the slushy drinks instead of sugar to keep the drink’s “slush” effect.
Kim recounted, “She screamed out in agony in the hospital, saying her head hurt and she threw up everywhere.” In retrospect, she displayed every sign of glycerol toxicity.
The reason for our transfer to a different hospital was unknown to them. Since that was the only thing she had had differently that day, we began investigating the slushy.
