Grimes responded to a Twitter user who said that Vivian was “created in God’s image and is due respect always” by saying,
“God gave us hands to build cathedrals, rockets to the moon.” Using creativity, God’s greatest gift to humans, is obviously a divine act.
It is not “divine to make use of God’s greatest gift to humanity” while changing the “perfect design of our bodies,” according to another user, who said that this would “ultimately destroy us.”
“I am not Christian but I respect ur Christian God and I have Christian friends and sometimes join them for their holidays or heed their teachings,” Grimes said forcefully.
I, too, like adorning my body with various tattoos and the like, and I do not embrace this worldview.
But if we are really created in God’s image and he also endowed us with the ability to transform, enhance, and personalize it.
Then it is also God’s image. In my view, God embodies the boundless potential of the cosmos.
