Police also discovered a metal pole in the kitchen that had hair and blood on it. Almaru asserted that the death of his daughter was an accident.
Prosecutors said that Almaru hit his 17-year-old daughter during an altercation about going to prom, according to court records acquired by Fox 32.
Allegedly, Almaru changed his mind about allowing Mia to travel after earlier indicating she could. He apparently said he “did not trust her.”
Court filings said that Almaru searched through his daughter’s phone and suspected she was withholding things from him, WGN-TV reported.
