After finishing last against JV guys, a transgender track athlete wins the varsity ladies competition: report

About two years after placing last in a competition against junior varsity males, a transgender athlete won first place in a varsity high jump event in a high school meet in Oregon on Wednesday, according to a report.

With a height of 4 feet, 8 inches, Lia Rose—who apparently competed as Zachary—won the high jump in the Portland Interscholastic League Varsity Relays, two inches ahead of the runner-up.

When Zachary Rose competed against JV boys on May 3, 2023, he jumped 4 feet, 6 inches, placing him 11th out of 11 participants, according to athletic.net.

Another foot higher was the winning height in that meet. Online data indicate that Zachary Rose participated in the 2023 boys’ division.

Lia Rose participated in the same category the following year. However, Lia Rose was listed as a competitor in the girls’ division this year.
