Dalyce Kelley, who also worked as her part-time caretaker, dropped her off to her Altadena home at approximately midnight.
Although the Eaton Fire had started earlier that night, Kelley said she was surprised by how rapidly it spread. Later that evening, Kelley got a text alert informing.
Her that her grandmother’s house was without electricity. She hurried to see how Curry was doing, but it was already too late when she arrived at the neighborhood.
“I regret that your grandmother’s property is no longer there. When Kelley reached the border of the fire zone, which had been roped off, a law enforcement officer told her, “It completely burned down.”
Since many evacuated citizens had sought shelter at the Pasadena Civic Center, the officer advised Kelley to check there. That night, Kelley searched for her grandma.
