After initially evading the lethal infection, my grandfather, who was 88 years old, succumbed to the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder E.coli outbreak.

Last month, JC Smith visited the McDonald’s that he had frequented on numerous occasions with his wife and ordered his customary meal: a Quarter Pounder hamburger.

However, on October 3, the 88-year-old Colorado native and marine veteran fell ill and was unable to walk due to severe vertigo and violent diarrhea.

After being taken to the hospital, he was confined for four days. The findings of his laboratory tests indicated that he had contracted E.coli, a lethal bacterial infection.

The Smiths contend that they were not informed of the source of the E.coli outbreak, despite the fact that a health department official interviewed the family and informed them that they were conducting an investigation.

Consequently, the family neglected to consider the possibility of returning to McDonald’s, where Mr. Smith once again ordered his preferred burger.
