Carmen, a former executive assistant in the record business, became pregnant during her 1995–2004 romance with Jay-Z while she was simultaneously seeing his fiercest adversary, Nas, but she tragically miscarried.
However, after being ‘disgusted’ by Jay-Z’s singing about having sex with her in his song Supa Ugly, Carmen halted their affair, even though she was engaged to Nas, the father of her daughter Destiny, born in 1994.
Rapping about having sex with Carmen in a Jeep and leaving used condoms in her daughter’s infant seat, Jay-Z released the song in 2004.
