After nine arduous months trapped in space, the NASA astronauts successfully splashed back down to Earth.
NASA astronauts Barry ‘Butch’ Wilmore and Sunita ‘Suni’ Williams were returned to Earth today (March 18) by the SpaceX Crew Dragon after spending months confined in space.
In June 2024, the crew believed their eight-day voyage to the International Space Station (ISS) would be straightforward.
However, Williams and Wilmore were unable to safely return to their home planet when their Boeing Starliner Calypso malfunctioned due to helium leakage and its thrusters failed.
The seasoned astronauts were left on the ISS for over 300 days after other efforts to rescue them failed.
