California’s Newport Beach (KABC) — In Newport Beach, a hostile sea lion was seen on camera pursuing surfers. According to experts, that is not typical behavior for the species.
One of Newport Beach’s most well-liked surfing locations is The Wedge. On Tuesday, however, surfers were paddling back to shore due to something in the water.
Dingo, a resident of Newport Beach who recorded the event on camera, told Eyewitness News that it was among the most bizarre things he has ever witnessed in The Wedge.

“The concern level at the time really wasn’t that high,” said Dingo. “I felt like everybody was getting away from the sea lion, kind of in an appropriate manner.
