The teen’s mother has suffered this unfathomable tragedy while “physically and financially recovering from a hard-fought battle with cancer,” according to a GoFundMe page created by MacEwen’s family.
According to the fundraiser, the teenager was a “loved brother, son, grandson, nephew, and friend; he was also a JROTC student and a volunteer with the kid’s ministry at his home church.”
Additionally, it states that the fundraiser’s goal is to assist with burial costs so that his family may “take some time off of work to grieve.”
