CNN reports that after accusing the US of “pretend[ing] to be deaf and dumb,” China went on to speculate that COVID-19 could have existed in the US before to the breakout in China.
Before the first Wuhan epidemic began, they claimed in a white paper that “mystery e-cigarette or vaping device use-associated lung damage” cases” in Illinois and Wisconsin were really Covid.
The virus ‘was spreading throughout the US at a low level as early as December 2019, far before the first official cases were registered,’ they said, implying that flu cases in September 2019 in South Carolina were really Covid.
“There is substantial evidence that the Covid-19 virus may have appeared in the United States before its officially claimed timeline and before the outbreak in China,” China noted in its research.
An official from China’s National Health Commission also made the case that the US should be the focus of the next investigation into the virus’s origin.
