Mykale Baker, 18, had different plans while the majority of high school grads were out having fun with friends and family. His diligence has paid off!
Baker, still sporting his graduation stole and medals, worked at his neighborhood Burger King only hours after graduating from Mills Creek High School in Georgia.
Maria Mendoza, a fellow graduating mother, took a picture of the occasion, which soon went viral and transformed Baker’s life. “This Is How Determination Looks.”
According to the New York Post, Mendoza, who had recently seen her own daughter graduate from the same high school, observed the teenager behind the drive-thru window at approximately 10:00 PM on May 21.
Mendoza posted on GoFundMe, saying, “One young man quietly showed the world what determination looks like, while many graduates spent the night celebrating with friends and family.”
