It all started off very peacefully. Officers called emergency medical services for further assessment after seeing that she seemed confused but not dangerous.
Officials subsequently stressed that Hoffman and his companion had come on a “routine medical call.” However, Bossell had drawn a knife at some point during the hospital journey.
Hoffman was screaming in the back of the ambulance when the driver instantly put it to a stop. According to the affidavit, Hoffman said, “She stabbed me in the heart.”
Chaos broke out when Bossell tried to take control of the ambulance, climbing into the driver’s seat and attempting to escape as the doors flew out.
She bit the arm of a cop who was following the ambulance, and he had to hit her with his gun to dislodge her before he could pull her to the ground.
