A stunning remark was delivered by boxer Imane Khelif following her victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Friday (August 10), the 25-year-old boxer from Algeria became an Olympic champion. She had been embroiled in a gender-based dispute throughout the Olympics.
To reach the final of the women’s welterweight (66kg) division, Khelif won her quarterfinal match against
Hungary’s Anna Luca Hamori and her semi-final match against Thailand’s Janjaem Suwannapheng. In the final, she will fight China’s Yang Liu.
She has made history by being the first female boxer from Algeria to win the championship.
