Alan Alda, 89, Shares Candid Health Update as He Continues His Battle with Parkinson’s Disease

“Almost every day I’m finding a new way to do something,” he explained. “It’s a little like a game.

I’ve found whatever the little problem is, if I keep at it, I can eventually solve it, and then I feel like a million bucks. It’s a way to have a good time under poor circumstances.”

Over the years, managing the disease has gone from a part-time task to what Alda calls a “full-time job,” filled with an ever-growing list of challenges to solve.

“It keeps me always looking for the funny side.”

Even as Parkinson’s has impacted his dexterity and caused full-body tremors, Alda hasn’t retreated from the spotlight.
