Lasik, a laser eye surgery intended to reduce dependency on glasses or contact lenses, is widely marketed as a safe, low-risk procedure with a 95-99% satisfaction rate.
However, critics argue that complication rates are vastly underreported.
Dr. Edward Boshnick, a Miami-based optometrist specializing in post-Lasik treatment, told The New York Post, “It’s the biggest scam ever put on the American public… and it’s a multi-billion dollar business.”
