A video of a singer holding her own head in her arms is going viral and drawing criticism. As “blood” red smoke and flames burst forth, she could be seen singing along with the heavy metal band Gojira from a window.
While this may seem gloomy at first glance, it really alludes to a significant period in French history, as several X users pointed out to the conspiracy aficionados.
“Learn some history — this was about the French revolution,” someone wrote. Just one more person said, “It’s Marie Antoinette, dumb*ss.”
The actress portrayed by the window is, of course, Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France before the Revolution.
Following her conviction for high treason in 1793, she was killed by the guillotine. Of course it is dark.
