American shot putter Raven Saunders says, “I want to encourage other women” while competing in the semifinals while wearing a mask and sunglasses.

Raven Saunders, who has never been one to blend in, made a statement in the shot put semifinals on Thursday.

With a throw of 18.62 meters, the American superstar placed fourth in her group and seventh overall, ensuring her spot in Friday’s final. It was, however, their choice of clothing that created a sensation.

While participating, Saunders wore a black face mask and bright visor sunglasses; afterwards, she said that the attire was meant to encourage others to be themselves.

After reaching the final, Saunders said, “I feel special trying to get the world more in tune and trying to give us and bring us more in our event.”

Lots of new female athletes are making waves with their innovative techniques, and I think this is a great opportunity for me to distinguish out while also inspiring other women.
