Shapiro was a co-founder of Sound Talent Group, which has clients including Story of the Year and Sum 41.
“The loss of our co-founder, colleagues, and friends is devastating,” a Sound Talent Group spokesperson told the BBC.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and all those affected by the tragedy of today. I really appreciate you protecting their privacy at this time.
Shapiro was one of the “three employees” the business told the BBC it lost in the aircraft accident, although they did not name the other employees.
According to his aviation firm, Velocity Aviation, the talent agent was also an enthusiastic pilot and a licensed flight instructor with more than 15 years of expertise.
