Shapiro was a co-founder of Sound Talent Group, which has clients like Story of the Year and Sum 41.
“The loss of our co-founder, colleagues, and friends is devastating,” a Sound Talent Group spokesperson told the BBC.

Shapiro was one of the “three employees” the company told the BBC it lost in the plane crash, but they did not name the other employees.
According to his aviation firm, Velocity Aviation, the talent agent was also an enthusiastic pilot and a licensed flight instructor with more than 15 years of expertise.
