The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children posted an age-progression photo and a picture of Kayla when she was nine years old online since she vanished.
The media sometimes ran stories on Kayla in an attempt to locate her. Among the others, she appeared in the Unsolved Mysteries relaunch on Netflix, which ultimately resulted in her rescue.
A shop owner recognized Kayla after seeing a recent episode of the show and called the police. Kayla, who is now 15 years old, was placed in protective care after she and her mother were arrested.
According to John Vojta, an attorney representing Kayla’s custodial father, Iserka spoke with his daughter in North Carolina on Sunday and the two of them went back to Illinois.
