In November of that year, 33-year-old French tourist Bastien Palmier also perished after trying to snap a photo at the beauty site despite warning warnings.
Palmier slipped and plunged to his death on the jagged, wet rocks and into the pool below when he was standing close to the cliff edge of the 260-foot-tall waterfall,
Either taking a selfie or attempting to position himself for one. The corpse of the visitor, floating face-down in the water, was recovered by police and rescue personnel.
The Frenchman was covered in wounds and bruises from the accident, and his forehead was split open. At the scene, he was declared dead.
