ABC News said that witness Dani Horbiak claimed to have heard what “sounded almost like gunshots in the sky.” Then she saw metal fragments descending from the sky.
Michael Roth, the owner of New York Helicopter, which supplied the trip and the helicopter, told The Telegraph that the aircraft required fuel.
“He [the pilot] called in to say he needed fuel and that he was landing. He should have arrived in three minutes or so, but he didn’t show up for twenty minutes.” Experts suspect a defective.
“Jesus nut” is the reason of the accident, however the inquiry is still underway. Sean Johnson, a former Navy SEAL veteran, was confirmed as the 36-year-old pilot who also died.
