An ‘inappropriate atmosphere’ has reportedly been created by an Olympic swimmer, leading to their expulsion from the Olympic Village.
Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso was only one of many competitors that slept in the Olympic Village during the 2024 Summer Olympics. There, they trained, rested, and socialized with their fellow competitors.
The swimmer didn’t have a great performance at the Games this year after placing sixth in the butterfly heats; she owns the Paraguayan records for the 50-, 100-, and 200-meter butterfly events.
Team Paraguay has released a statement stating that she has been ordered to leave the Village as the Games approach their last week of action.
“Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay,” COP mission leader Larissa Schaerer reportedly told The Daily Mail.
