Deputies had visited the boys’ home many times before to the event, according to the Albuquerque Journal. The kids’ method of obtaining the gun is still unknown, however.

The boys are still living at home, and no criminal charges have been brought against them. “We know one side is going to say, ‘Lock them in jail,'” Allen said in a statement cited by.
