Region of England are predicted to drop to -6 degrees Celsius. Ahead of a snowstorm this weekend, the Met Office has issued new weather warnings for ice.
The northwestern region of England, Northern Ireland, and northern and western Scotland may see ice surfaces, according to the yellow warning.
The forecaster cautioned that it might create challenging travel conditions and will be in effect from 5 p.m. on Thursday until 10 a.m. on Friday.
Additionally, a snow and ice warning is in effect for portions of northern Scotland from Thursday at 4 p.m. until Friday at 10 a.m.
On Thursday night, a lengthier period of rain and sleet will replace sporadic wintry showers, especially in western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
