Poilievre’s party enjoyed a commanding 25-point lead in the polls only a few weeks ago, but Carney, the leader of the Liberal Party, has since reduced the gap.
The ‘Trump effect’ is thought to be crucial to the outcome of the election, which is thought to be too close to call.
Although the 47th president has imposed taxes on Canada, he has stated that if Canada becomes the “cherished 51st state,” it will be exempt from the increases.
