At 85, Tony Roberts passes away.

How Now, Dow Jones, Sugar, and a version of Some Like It Hot were among the Broadway shows in which Roberts appeared.

Additionally, he starred with Dame Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria, which was her victorious Broadway comeback.

He received two Tony Award nominations for his theatrical work: one for How Now, Dow Jones, and another for Play It Again, Sam, in which he also starred.

Despite his Broadway success, Roberts gained widespread recognition for his on-screen personas, especially in Woody Allen’s productions.

He starred in A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy, Annie Hall, Hannah and Her Sisters, Radio Days, Stardust Memories, Play It Again, and Sam.

Even though they had a great professional relationship, Roberts recognized the drawbacks of having a direct connection to Allen’s work.
