At age 63, Scottish comic Janey Godley passed away.

In a video uploaded on X to announce the news, the comedian’s daughter, broadcaster Ashley Storrie of BBC Radio Scotland, said, “We got her longer because of all of the support and the love in the world.”

In the video, Storrie stated: “I want to express my gratitude to everyone for their support and generosity. In my heart of hearts, I think she felt all of the love you gave her. And I believe it sustained her.

Because of all the love and support in the world, I honestly believe we were able to extend her life. But that’s the end of it. So, once again, thank you, and good-bye.

Godley disclosed that she has ovarian cancer in November 2021. After receiving the all-clear in 2022, the comedian revealed later that year that a further scan had shown evidence of the illness in her belly.

However, the celebrity said that she will go on with her Not Dead Yet tour in spite of her prognosis. Unfortunately,
