Mendez refrained from verifying the precise number of casualties, noting the fluid and continuous nature of the investigation, but preliminary indications indicate there may be as many as nine.
“I heard names being yelled out.” One bystander, Lupe Rodriguez, told AZFamily, “There was a man on the ground and it didn’t seem like he made it.” Rodriguez fled to safety. His dad was shouting his name. It wasn’t good.
“Just before 8 p.m., we started getting calls about a shooting at an establishment,” Mendez stated. The victims are numerous.
We are still in the process of verifying the overall number and conditions. A number of people were arrested, but no suspects have been named.
