Over the course of the twenty-minute address, Butker also touched on topics such as “the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion,” “degenerate cultural values,” and “dangerous gender ideologies.”
“If it wasn’t obvious that the timeless Catholic values are hated by many, it is now,” Butker seemed to reiterate at the Courage Under Fire event in Nashville, after his speech’s outrage-inspiring remarks.
His comments were made ‘in his own capacity,’ according to the NFL, which added: “His views are not those of the NFL.” This was in response to the criticism that followed his presentation.
‘Woefully out of sync with Americans regarding Pride, LGBTQ people and women’ was the description given by LGBTQ+ advocacy group GLAAD when they also denounced Butker’s comments.
