ICONS written to the US Masters Swimming (USMS) board to inform them that they were violating their own fair play guideline by permitting her to participate.
According to the board, trans women who wanted to participate in the women’s division had to have had hormone treatment and have a testosterone level below 5 nmol/L.
The letter states: “The competition’s integrity and the confidence of all USMS athletes depend on transparency in these matters.” It should not be a rule allowing males to participate in women’s.
