They collaborated with Othram, a state-of-the-art forensic DNA laboratory that focuses on cold cases. Othram created a thorough DNA profile from the found remains using forensic-grade genome sequencing.

They had a match by 2022.

“This case serves as a reminder of how science and teamwork can provide long-overdue answers,” Othram’s Kristen Cunnane remarked.
