Dr. Michael Baden, a forensic pathologist, says her death could have been avoided. “She basically passed away from untreated pneumonia,” Dr. Baden said.
Both her community and the Air Force Academy were horrified by Avery’s passing. She planned to study in biology and minor in kinesiology, with the ultimate goal of working as a pilot’s physical therapist.
