Pictures of Dillan, an Asiatic black bear that was abnormally overweight, went viral in 2020. The Pennsylvania Union County Sportsmen’s Club housed Dillan in a cramped concrete cage for many years.
At the same time, only 200 feet from his cage, the deafening boom of gunshots could be heard. Sadly, Dillan lost his claws. His decaying teeth and enlarged, inflamed gums were among a number of health problems.
This unfortunate bear also gained weight over time; specialists think he’s hundreds of pounds overweight. But there was never enough water for him.
