Before phoning the police, the Texas gun owner went to bed after fatally shooting a burglar.

A gun owner in Texas shot a burglar dead, then went back to sleep before phoning the police. The 72-year-old guy was arrested after the event and placed under $150,000 bond at the county jail.

After killing a burglar outside his house, James Michael Meyer, 72, of Dallas, was charged with murder.

He told police that he went back to sleep before dialing 911.

After being arrested for the incident on the 5400 block of Philip Avenue in Old East Dallas, Meyer was reportedly held at the Dallas County Jail on a $150,000 bond, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Around five in the morning on a Thursday, Meyer was supposedly asleep in his house when he was startled by strange sounds coming from outside.
