He attacked the Democratic Party for giving elites and contributors priority over those who engage in hands-on labor without academic background.
Sanders noted that formal party events frequently resulted in antagonism against rallies packed with enthusiastic, working-class followers.
It didn’t stop there. Sanders went on to blame the Democratic establishment for destroying his 2016 run with a coordinated smear campaign.

“There would be a few hundred persons, mostly older, whiter, wealthier,” Sanders added.
“The establishment closed doors rather than allowing access. They detested the notion that so many individuals with somewhat unclean hands lacked PhDs or were not rich.
Indeed, he said, “We will combat you in the most merciless methods we are able of. And that is the struggle.
